Support for Fellow Blogger

If any of you have a spare moment, I would ask you to please go visit Stand Up and Speak Out and give her some support.

She and her family were attacked yesturday in a very slanted Sac Bee article.

Basically what happened is that Katelyn’s mother complained to the Bishop William K. Weigand after she noticed a Loretto High School teacher was volunteering at Planned Parenthood. The Bishop ordered the teacher fired.

The teacher was at a Catholic High School. In my mind, it is reasonable to expect that a Catholic High School teacher will adhere to Catholic values. Volunteering to assist with abortions is in most minds a big violation of Catholic values.

Whether or not it merits firing should be left up to the individual schools or diocies. In this case it was decided that it was, so I think that the Bishop's decision was reasonable.
